Good old dublin

So here I am again finishing something up, wrapping it neatly and putting it into my chest of memories to keep me warm in my older years. The Irish experience has woven many tight woolly blankets that will have me chuckling well into my years of grey hairs and arthritic fingers (from all the free text messaging to saz and ant).

Summary Memory -
19 weeks and 3 days spent living and travelling in little old Ireland. Worked for a ridiculas amount of companies doing everything from data entry to reception to personal assistant. Lived in the centre of Dublin at a place called Music Hall, Cows Lane, Temple Bar. Literally my address. Lived in a tiny room with Sarah and Anthea. Rotated sharing the double bed on a weekly basis. Managed to get along like a house on fire (probably lit by spanish leaving dryer on) even though we spent every second with each other. Also lived with the demonised 'Spanish'. Fair play we would of been a rough group to live with, due to our excessive number of friends and parties! But really what did they expect letting 3 Australians girls rent the room for only 4 months!?!

The 3 Ant Memory -
  • The tight spoon at electric picnic! The only way to sleep
  • Kitchen Ant and Mon! Oh the delights we created, nothing could be simple, NOTHING!
  • 'Do you want to go home now?!? DO YOU!!!'

The 3 Saz Memory -
  • Chocolate milk 2006
  • The amount of CRAZY (as in insane) boys that were attracted to her
  • 'Shit Hot Waitress'

The 3 Matt Memory -
  • Thinking about my doorbell... when you're going to ring it? Matt rang our doorbell at 3am one night waking up mia... she hates him
  • Matt leaving his bag with everything in it at the pub. Then belt, jacket and scarf another night
  • Snack box and other such names!

The Work Memory -
  • Not being able to understand the accent
  • Franking a heap of envelopes with 4.80 euros instead of 0.48c
  • 'Pronuncing Irish names like they were something exotic' - direct quote from a Lawyer I work for.
  • Bazza proclaiming he had the 'golden key to my heart' when I handed him back the keys to his office at the wine bar (where he had been since 12 having a very boozey business lunch). He then repeated this claim another 4 times. hehehe hilarious
Top 3 places to go out:
  • Whelans
  • Antics at Crawl Daddy
  • The George
Top 3 places to eat:
  • Roma 2
  • Gruel
  • The Bakery

The forever coined phrases for this period -

  • 'Good old ... (insert whatever object, person, place that you want to comment on)' or for a more general appeal 'Good old faithful'
  • 'That be grand'
  • 'We will always have Paris' - to ant
  • '80, 80... 80'
  • 'Oh, controversial' said about anything! I am going to put on my shoes! oh controversial!
  • 'Tanks, tanks a mill'

So much more to say about Dublin and my good mates Ant and Saz! But really I could just go on forever and Dublin was so 5 days ago... Love you girls, don't know what I will do without you!
